I always stayed at the Herods Hoyel if you walk up the beach to the old part of the City you’ll get to a train and just pas that there’s a great Tapas Bar in the evening Bats flying all around head towards where the American Embassy is, there’s a decent Irish bar on the way, but it’s worth the extra 00 minutes walk to go to the Tapas bar

The old City of Jerusalem was probably my favourite day I spent in Israel. Western Wall & Church of the Holy Sepulchre esp were pretty special.
Just don't wander into the grounds of a Mosque looking for a toilet as my missus did.
The women were lovely and let her use the loos as she was desperate, but two Arab blokes (dickheads) tried to start a fight with me.

Jaffa is worth is visit too, you can walk from Tel Aviv all the way along the seafront, think it took us about 45 mins.

Spend a few hours wandering around the old city in Jerusalem. Interesting markets. I got tear gassed there.

There are a few towns called Masada (even more in the US), because of what happened there a couple of thousand years ago. Its an incredible story and a really interesting site to visit. The one I'm talking about is on the Dead Sea/Negev desert, south of Ein Gedi. Its not that far from Jerusalem.

I loved Masada! The Jews have a saying..."There will never be another Masada" meaning Jews will never be put in the same situation again. Great story

Don't accidentally wander in to Syria like I did in 1988 and almost ended up sharing a hut and toilet with McCarthy, Keenan and Waite!
I preferred the Arabs to the Jews and found Jordan much friendlier.
Obviously if you have time, Jerusalem, Bethlehem, Eilat, Dead Sea, Sea Of Galilee, so much history

Suppose like most things it depends what she wants to do. I’ve got no interest in religion but have always wanted to see the things I was taught in school.

Can’t really vouch for the city Center as only saw a tiny bit from the taxi, but looked like it was massively built up, concrete jungle if you like. I’m staying near Frishman Beach that looks like it’s in the Tel Aviv - Yafo section.
It’s very safe here, and clean. No worries about walking around at night , buses and trains seem frequent although the traffic isn’t great. The food is expensive but very good, no idea of shop prices for clothes etc.

Short answer is if she wants to jump on a bus or train and see where Jesus was born then yes, if any other reason I’d find it hard to recommend it purely because of prices.

Tel Aviv

You can't swim in the dead sea, I have tried, it's not even deep enough in the section you will go in.

BDS supporters seem to think you can fish in there though 🤣

I've done the lot in Israel, Nazareth, Jerusalem, Wailing Wall, Dome of the Rock, Holy Sepulchre Church, Bethlehem, Church of the Nativity, Haifa, Tel Aviv, Ashdod, Dead Sea, tried swimming in it, almost impossible.

I happened to be in Tel Aviv when Diana died. Don't recall that much since it was 26 years ago and I'm not one of these weirdos who remembers everything, do remember the food was good though, and while the woman might be pretty, in the main, they are proper stuck up cunts who won't give you the time of day. Fact.

I see that rios has give you enough tips to last about a fortnight, lol. He seemed quite exciteable about it all too.

When it rains in Israel (especially near the coast) it chucks it down proper hard and you won't be walking outside in it. But its not normally for very long, find a nice bar or shawarma place to sit in and wait for it to pass.

By the way, when you are in Jerusalem, you should be able to book a bus tour to Petra in Jordan, which is also well worth a visit.

Forgot to mention, it’s going to piss down tomorrow and Thursday so not a lot of walking about.

Tel Aviv is ridiculously expensive and I think it got voted one of the most expensive cities to live in. Despite that, it is one of my favourite cities I have been to.

You can find a few hidden gems to eat, mostly falafel and schnitzel stall type places. Can't remember their names but they were around Ben Yehuda / Dizengoff Street.

If you fancy going to a nicer place which is reasonable then try 'old man and the sea' in Jaffa. Loads of fish and unlimited side dishes - very nice and a nice setting if you're sitting outside. Jaffa is nice to walk around as well if you got time to kill.

The quality of women in Tel Aviv is up there with the best I have seen.

Enjoy
